The outside fabric of this one-of-a-kind bag is the last remnant of a medium-weight barkcloth that I’ve had for a long time, an exclusive by Duralee Fabrics called “Patio Leaf”. I think I purchased it in Los Angeles at Diamond Foam and Fabric in the early 2000s. The lining, discovered at 5 Little Monkeys Quilting in Weaverville, NC, is from Charley Harper’s “Harvest Volume 1” for Birch Fabrics. This premium organic cotton, “made with love, not pesticides,” is called “Condominimum,” and I love how the ochre color of the condo shapes works with the dominant background shade of the barkcloth. Where did the polka dot piping come from? I have no idea. Wherever I see polka dots waiting for me, I snatch them up!
