I purchased this soft brown linen with a ribbon applique in Los Angeles back in the early 2000s. I was making a bedspread out of it, so I got a lot of yardage and had a small remnant left over, perfect for this one-of-a-kind Kathy bag. The lining is from a Charley Harper design, “Drink Up” Nurture Volume 3, for Birch Fabrics. I was struck by the design once I realized that giraffes were the creatures that were doing the drinking up! The piping fabric is called “Women’s Body Dreaming” by Cindy Wallace for M & S Textiles Australia. This bag is dedicated to my dear friend, Paul. He loved giraffes.
