This exterior Charley Harper barkcloth design, “Squid and Whale” for Birch Fabrics, was my first exposure to the artist’s work. I’d never seen any kind of fabric design like this before. I was inspired! I laid it out and the pattern worked beautifully on the bag yardage. Next, I picked out this devilishly weird, spooky, astrological print at Foam and Fabrics Outlets for the lining. Last, but not least, I pulled the white polka dot on red background out of my piping stash. A match made in bag design heaven!
